Special Educational Teacher

Are you a dedicated educator with a heart for special education? We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our school’s team this September. We welcome both experienced teachers and enthusiastic NQTs with SEND experience to apply.

About the Special School: Nestled in the vibrant city of Cardiff, this special school is a beacon of hope and learning for pupils aged 4 to 11 years with a range of learning difficulties. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential, valuing communication in all its forms and striving to equip our pupils with the skills necessary for independence and informed decision-making.

The Role:

  • Work with pupils who have a variety of learning difficulties, including those who are non-verbal or use alternative communication methods such as PECS and Makaton.
  • Create an inclusive, engaging curriculum that caters to the individual needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic development of our pupils.
  • Foster a safe and positive learning environment that celebrates every milestone.

Requirements:

  • A passion for special education and a commitment to inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience with verbal and non-verbal communication strategies, desirable knowledge of  PECS and Makaton.
  • Understanding of the diverse needs of pupils with learning difficulties.
  • Availability for a full-time role, with a competitive daily rate starting from £157.66.

This is a full time temporary position starting from September, with a strong potential to go permanent from January.
