REED Education are currently looking for an experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at an SEN school within Hanley on a Fixed Term contract for 12 months, 40 hours per week. 

We are currently looking for an experienced Full Time Teacher for our 'Outstanding' rated Hanley School. The school supports young people aged 6 - 19 with ASC, communication and sensory needs. We offer life skills and a wide range of GCSE/BTEC accreditations alongside a functional skills/entry level pathway. Behaviours across the school are excellent.

We are looking to appoint someone with experience of delivering outcomes for young people who are Primary Age and some at secondary age but working below age related expectations and on a life skills/ functional pathway. Experience of teaching a range of subjects at KS2/KS3 and/or experience of delivering entry level and functional skills maths and english would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of our students and will have the skills and experience to effectively support their learning and development.


Responsibilities:

Planning and delivering high-quality and engaging lessons that meet the needs of individual students with special educational needs.

Assessing students' progress and providing regular feedback to parents/guardians and other teaching staff.

Developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and other support plans for students.

Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social and emotional development of all students.

Experience of working with young people with ASD

Thorough working knowledge of the curriculum and how to adapt this for pupils with SEN

Collaborating with other teachers and school staff to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience for all students.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in education or a related field.

A teaching qualification that meets QTS standards.

At least 2 years of experience teaching in an SEN setting.

Knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and best practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A passion for teaching and a commitment to student learning.

A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching.
