Reed Education Sussex is recruiting for a teaching assistant to work at a well-established and successful school in Bexhill. The school aims to provide a caring and inclusive environment for all students with a strong commitment to academic excellence, personal growth and social responsibility.

As a teaching assistant, you will work alongside the teachers and students in the classroom, as well as in small groups or one-to-one sessions. You will help with the planning, preparation and delivery of lessons, as well as with the assessment and feedback of students’ work. You will also support the pastoral care and behaviour management of the students.

To be eligible for this role, you will need to have:

  • Previous experience working in schools or with young people
  • At least a NVQ Level 2 or relevant experience in education or childcare
  • The ability to converse easily and maintain good interpersonal skills
  • The skills to deescalate challenging behaviour and promote positive outcomes

The working hours are 08:30-16:00, Monday to Friday, with a day pay rate of £85. You will also need to have a valid DBS check and be able to provide two references from your previous employers.
