Empowering Learning are looking to appoint an SEMH Teaching Assistants to start as soon as possible. The school, rated 'Good' by Ofsted is a specialist academy for children and young people with autism and or social, emotional or mental health needs from 9 to 19 years. The school combines the nurturing approach of a primary school with a range of curriculum and facilities of a Secondary School and a close working relationship with families.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience or the desire to work with children and young people with additional needs
  • Have a Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Have a good understanding of complex and challenging behaviour
  • Believe in Positive reinforcement
  • Are good team player and be able to work efficiently alone
  • Are adaptable and able to think on their feet.
