SEMH Teaching Assistant

Milk Education are working with a Primary School in the Salford area who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support their students within a Specialist Provision within the school in the Bury area. All students within the provision have an EHCP outlining complex SEND needs, SEMH needs and in some individual cases, adverse childhood experiences.

If you are passionate about making a difference within the education sector and supporting the mental health of young people, this could be the ideal role for you!

Working hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30-15:30.

Classroom Assistant duties:

• Provide students with encouragement, support and comfort

• Contribute to a safe, positive atmosphere that helps students learn and develop

• Playing a major role in the safeguarding and welfare of the students

• Work with students with SEND, SEMH and behaviour that challenges Classroom Assistant requirements:

• An understanding of strategies required to form strong working relationships with young people

• Experience working with young people in the last 2 years

• Sensitive to the varying needs of young people and individuals

• Experience of delivering strong behaviour management strategies

• Genuine passion and belief in the potential of every student
