I am looking for an SEMH Teacher to work within an alternative provision. This position is a full time, long term role with an immediate start. We are looking for a SEMH teacher to teach Key Stage 3 & 4 students. We are looking for someone who has fantastic behaviour management skills and prior experience with working with challenging behaviour and or social, emotional and mental health. We are happy to accept CV's from experienced teachers as well as NQT's, this school is able to offer support for your induction if successful.

This is a full time, long term position starting immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a school which is ran by a fantastic Headteacher.

Responsibilities of a SEMH Teacher:

  • Provide comprehensive academic and pastoral support to students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring that individual student needs are met.
  • Collaborate with the school's leadership team and subject specialists to develop and implement tailored learning plans for students.
  • Offer one-on-one or small group support to students, both inside and outside the classroom, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies, promoting positive behaviour and resolving conflicts in a calm and empathetic manner.
  • Regularly assess student progress, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback to students and their families.
  • Liaise with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure a holistic approach to student support and development.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, in collaboration with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, achievements, and any additional support provided.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities and stay updated with the latest developments in SEMH education.

This school supports around 160 pupils that have left a mainstream setting. The ideal candidate would have prior experience working with students with SEMH and have strong behaviour management skills.
