GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school team in North Shields. This position involves supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Job Summary:

• Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to implement effective strategies for inclusion.
• Support the emotional and academic development of students.

Responsibilities:

• Implement individual support plans.
• Manage challenging behavior positively and effectively.
• Foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with SEMH or similar needs is essential.
• Strong understanding of the strategies needed to manage challenging behaviors and promote positive outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Please note: This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful candidates must satisfy all background checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
