Are you passionate about supporting the education and well-being of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at Randstad Education, located in BA2.

The Role:

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs within the classroom environment. You will work closely with the teaching staff to implement individualised support plans, provide one-on-one assistance, and promote positive behaviour management strategies. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support to students with SEMH needs in both academic and social settings.
  • Assisting with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Building positive relationships with students, encouraging their engagement and participation in learning activities.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and behaviour incidents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently when required.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the school community.
