An improving school in Hull is seeking a qualified Music Teacher to join their strong, successful, and supportive Humanities department to cover a period of Maternity (Starting September 2024). This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Music Teacher to contribute to a well-established team and to develop students’ abilities and talents in a dynamic environment. Cover supervisors with a passion for Music are also encouraged to apply.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring music lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Develop and implement creative teaching strategies to enhance students’ learning experience.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and participate in continuous professional development.
  • Encourage students to express themselves through music and to appreciate different genres and styles.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and specialism in music.
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic about delivering the subject.
  • Experience teaching music across KS3, and KS4.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to plan, deliver and assess effective music lessons.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities.
