Reed Education are looking for a DT Technician to work in a supportive Secondary School in the Southwest area of Sheffield. This fulltime role school is to cover a period of leave, to commence after Easter break. The hours will be: 8:00-16:00 (term time only)

Day-to-day of the role:

A DT Technician assists in the smooth running of the Technology department in a secondary school. Your typical tasks would include:

  • Preparing, setting up and checking that equipment is working and is safe for pupils to use.
  • * Supporting teaching staff and pupils during lessons with queries.
  • * Putting away equipment after lessons and cleaning as required.
  • * maintaining a safe working environment.
  • * Organising and storing equipment.
  • * checking stock levels and re-ordering where appropriate.
  • * repairing equipment.
  • * Administrative tasks throughout the department.
  • * Updating displays.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience of working as a DT Technician in a Secondary school or has experience in a transferrable industry such as CNC machine operators/ Metal workers/ Joiners or any other technical workshop experience.

You will have a clear enhanced DBS on the Update service or willing to apply for one via Reed.
