Job Title: Secondary Class Teacher (KS3) - Small Group Setting

Location: Hackney, London

Salary: £160+ per day (DOE)

Contract: Full-time (term-time only)

Company Overview: Join our dedicated team at Veritas, where we work with a number of clients ensuring each student's potential is valued and nurtured. Currently, we are seeking a passionate and innovative teacher to lead a small class of eight students at Key Stage 3 age for a client in Hackney. With the support of our highly qualified Teaching Assistants (TAs), this role offers a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on the academic and personal development of the students.

Position Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher to lead a small class of eight students at Key Stage 3 age. The students in this class are verbal and primarily working on Year 1 National Curriculum objectives. As the class teacher, you will collaborate closely with our team of four highly qualified Teaching Assistants to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of each student. This role requires creativity, patience, and a commitment to inclusive education, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with TAs to provide personalized support and guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in accordance with the Year 1 National Curriculum objectives, adapting teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants to develop and implement personalized learning plans for students, ensuring that all learners are supported to achieve their full potential.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods and resources to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic growth and social development.
  • Monitor student progress and provide ongoing assessment and feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to develop and implement strategies for meeting the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining open communication and a supportive learning community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required; Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred.
  • Experience teaching in a special education or inclusive classroom setting.
  • Knowledge of the Year 1 National Curriculum objectives and experience in adapting curriculum content and teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Teaching Assistants, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting the academic and personal development of all students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, with the ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs.

Each candidate will be subject to a DBS and police check where required. A successful candidate will also provide at least two references from their previous employer/s.
