PET-Xi is hiring! Join Our Mission to Empower Learners! 1x Science Tutor Wanted in Chesterfield 5 days a week untilt he end of the academic year.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Science Tutor to tutor GCSE material to secondary students.

You will be primarily responsible for the delivery of pre-designed key stage 3-4 science materials, that means.

  • Less Marking
  • Less lesson planning
  • Support preparing lesson materials

This is a role based at a school in Chesterfield, where you will be tasked with the following:

  • Delivering up to 5, 1-hour sessions to a group of up to 6 students
  • Completing brief progress reports

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience with engaging with young peoples’ activities
  • Ability to engage with and inspire young learners by using appropriate training techniques and inter-personal skills
  • Create an appropriate learning environment and maintain a disciplinary framework by demonstrating a strong 'presence’ in the classroom
  • Be capable of modifying delivery method dependant on the learners in the group
  • Be able to work to deadlines
  • Have good ICT skills using Microsoft Office software
  • The ability to adapt to different learning styles at pace

In order to deliver this qualification to PET-Xi standards, staff must hold (or be working towards):

  • A level 3 or higher teaching qualification
  • An Enhanced current DBS check, preferably on the update service. (Essential)

Personal Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Presentation, written and verbal.
  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage own diary.
