Science Teacher

  • Pay to Scale

If you want to change children’s perception of science and show how fascinating and exciting each element of the subject is. Come share your knowledge for your subject!

I am currently working on behalf of a education learning centre in Bath. The role is full time so is perfect for an ECT who is just starting their journey as a teacher and is looking for an opportunity to develop their skills and fully complete their qualifications. However, is it also a great opportunity for an experienced instructor, who adores teaching and working with children.

The School

Is a small education learning community on three sites in Bristol and Bath for KS3 & 4. Pupils who are referred to our Academy often tell us that much of their experience of school and learning has left them feeling disillusioned and negative about education. This feeling does not last long.

The school strives to ensure that the personalised learning journey of all their young people provides academic success and the confidence and skills to break thorough personal barriers. This means their pupils develop a positive attitude to learning which enables them to achieve and grow and succeed.

Supported by a dedicated, skilful and committed staff team the young people successfully move on from St Matthias Academy back into mainstream education, to specialist education or to college. They help and guide pupils to take the next steps that are right for them.

The role will involve:

  • Planning and marking Science lessons and activities

  • Temporary role which could lead to a permanent position

  • Working proactively with other members of the team

What the client is looking for

The school is looking for a kind, approachable individual, who can show excellent organisational skills and be assertive yet adapt to ever changing situations.

  • Is confident at executing the school's ethos and values
  • A commitment to 'getting involved' in overall school life

  • QTS (ECT's are welcome to apply) or at least 1 year experience teaching in a UK school

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management
