Humly North East are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join one of our partnership schools in Newcastle (NE4). Knowledge and experience across all of the science topics will be required. You will need to be passionate about Science and have a desire to make a real difference to students' lives. You will be able to plan and deliver interesting and stimulating lessons for both KS3 and KS4 students, setting a level of challenge for all abilities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for fulltime work from June 2024. This is a long-term opportunity that could turn into permanent employment with the school for the right candidate. This role would be an ideal opportunity for both experienced practitioners or ECTs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing teaching materials, set up the classroom and organise displays

  • plan and teach lessons and work with small groups of students

  • mark work and talk to parents and carers about their children's progress

  • manage the work of any teaching assistants in class

  • follow safeguarding procedures and work with careers advisers, counsellors, education psychologists and social workers when required

It is also essential that you have:

  • knowledge of teaching and the ability to create engaging science lessons

  • patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations

  • the ability to create the best conditions for learning or teaching new things

  • leadership skills

  • to be flexible and open to change

  • excellent verbal communication skills

To be considered for the role of Teacher, an enhanced DBS Certificate on the update service will be required and satisfactory references will be needed. Our compliance team will fully support you through this process.
