Randstad Education are recruiting for experienced caretakers to work with us supporting primary schools located in and around Blackpool.The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of site management including health and safety, security, cleanliness, porterage, routine maintenance, and refurbishment and minor repairs. They will also work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure the smooth running of the school on a daily basis.

Benefits of the role:

  • Competitive daily rates - £13.00 - £14.00 per hour, dependent on role and experience.
  • Weekly pay.
  • AWR from week 13.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the security of the school building and grounds.
  • Opening and closing of school premises as per the designated schedule.
  • Building maintenance and repair.
  • Operation of security systems.
  • Monitoring and maintaining plumbing, heating, and electrical systems.
  • Assisting with the setting up and organisation of events and activities within the school.
  • Prioritising tasks and working under pressure.
  • Reporting acts of theft or vandalism.

Essential Requirements:

  • A relevant vocational qualification in site or facilities management or equivalent experience.
  • Strong problem solving abilities.
  • The ability to work independently using your initiative.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A proactive and diligent response to caretaking responsibilities.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Prior experience working in a caretaker or facilities management role.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service. If you do not already have this, we can help you with your application.
