School Librarian

CloudStone Education are recruiting for a Librarian at a vibrant educational institute in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea.

As the School Librarian, you will play a pivotal role in promoting literacy, supporting curriculum objectives, and cultivating a welcoming and inspiring environment within our library. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the library, curate an engaging collection of books and resources, and collaborate with faculty to integrate library resources into classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the school library, including cataloging, shelving, and maintaining resources
• Develop and implement programs to promote literacy and a love for reading among students
• Collaborate with teaching staff to support curriculum objectives through library resources
• Provide assistance and guidance to students in locating and utilising library materials
• Organise and facilitate library events, author visits, and reading clubs
• Stay updated on current trends in literature and educational technology to enhance library offerings
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages exploration and learning

Requirements:

• Educated to degree level or Librarian qualification
• Previous experience working in a school library or educational setting
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for promoting literacy and lifelong learning
• Familiarity with library management systems and educational technology
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and parents
