Job Title:         School Cook

Location:         Trent Acres, Kings Bromley

Salary:             £22,344 per annum

Hours:             40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

Contract:         Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a School Cook to join our close-knit team. 

Job Purpose

Under the reasonable direction of the Senior Leadership Team, carry out the duties of a Cook as set out in the current school policies. Uphold the professional code of conduct. Support school in accordance with the ethos, organisation and policies of the school as a fully committed member of staff as detailed in the specific duties and core standards below.

Main Tasks

  • To plan, operate and control the production and service of food related duties
  • To take responsibility for the standard of cleanliness and hygiene of premises and equipment 
  • To order all food and other commodities required from designated suppliers
  • To operate and control stocks, stock records and ensure correct completion and submission of all appropriate returns and records to the target dates identified
  • To provide a well-balanced and nutritional catering service taking into account dietary / allergy needs and specific dietary requests (e.g., vegan etc.) 
  • To ensure that the catering service runs efficiently with food being ready at the required times in sufficient quantities 

About the school

Options Trent Acres School is currently undergoing development and increasing its pupils numbers transitioning from 30 pupils to 60 pupils recently and with approval to open an Early Years Unit and extend our Primary provision. Due to this exciting time for the School the job roles currently advertised are all new as part of this development.

The school is purpose built, modern and welcoming with a range of specialist learning areas including an indoor and outdoor riding school and outdoor gymnasium. Pupils also have the opportunity to work with our horses, donkeys, goats, alpaca and chickens. Learning outside of the classroom is a fundamental part of life at Trent Acres. We have a dedicated staff team who are focused on the delivery of high quality, pupil centred, bespoke packages of care and education.

Our service is in within easy reach of Stoke, Derby, Telford, Stafford, Lichfield, Burntwood, Rugeley, Burton-on-Trent, Tamworth, Uttoxeter and surrounding towns.
