Location: Swindon and Wiltshire SN3 4RB

Salary: £33,063 - £38,344 dependent on experience

Our client is a charity supporting people in Cornwall, Devon, Wiltshire and across England and Wales who have been affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. They are independent of statutory agencies, including the Police, and every year they help thousands of adults and children across England and Wales to lead safer lives, free from violence and abuse.

The Role

Operating as part of the charity’s Management Team and based at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Swindon, the primary duties of the SARC Manager are to:

  • Provide leadership and management to staff, ensuring the needs of service users remain central to all the service does;
  • Directly lead and line manage the administrators and the SARC Team Leader.
  • Formulate and implement Sexual Violence strategies and operational plans and take a lead role in local and regional Sexual Violence strategy partnerships;
  • Represent the charity and service, effectively influencing multi-agency stakeholders employing diplomacy, tact and negotiation;
  • Conduct proactive service outreach to educate, inform and improve service utilisation and accessibility across the county;
  • Monitor and regularly report on charitable grant funding and contractual KPIs
  • Proactively lead on the development and achievement of service compliance: information governance, accreditations, training, safeguarding, equality and diversity information, quality assurance.

Skills and Experience

  • Management qualifications at degree level, equivalent experience or a vocational qualification;
  • Understanding of sexual violence including the impact on victims and their children and the legal and practical remedies available to these clients;
  • Agreement for completion of enhanced DBS and police vetting on successful appointment;
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills;
  • Experience leading teams through change;
  • Development of services, teams and staff - including personal and professional domains;
  • Support internal and external governance processes exercising a mature approach to risk;
  • Working within legislative / regulatory frameworks and using this application to develop, influence and encourage partnership working;
  • Delivering change management and growth within an organisation;
  • Demonstrable IT mastery with Microsoft products - Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams;
  • Full driving licence, access to a car and the ability to travel across all areas of Wiltshire and on occasion Gloucestershire, Devon and Cornwall;
  • Due to the nature of the role the post holder will be required to provide a DNA sample for process elimination with the forensic provider.

  • 25 days annual holiday entitlement increasing to 30 days after 5 years’ service per annum plus bank holidays
