Sample Reception Laboratory Technician

Full-Time;

Pay: £11.44 per hour with shift enhancement (Average hourly rate is £12.67p/hr)

Contract Length: Until 31/12/2024

Working Hours: Tues - Sat, 6am starts.

Working in the Operational Support team at the Starcross Laboratory.

The role involves the registration of samples in a laboratory environment. This includes unpacking of samples from crates, using LIMS (laboratory information management) database system to register samples by swiping barcodes. There will be some basic interaction the LIMS system and organising of samples onto trolleys, plus delivery of samples to laboratory sections. Maintains customer focus to ensure good working relationships with colleagues and customers.

We are looking for someone with good communication skills, that works well with others & as part of a team. You will need basic IT skills, and will be required to follow health and safety protocols.

Successful candidate will need to compete a DBS check (costing £18).

Please note:

  • Working Pattern, 37 hrs per week, Tuesdays to Saturdays.
  • Working Hours on Saturdays will be 6am to 10am.
  • Working hours Tues to Fridays will start at 6am, finish time to be confirmed
  • Enhanced pay of time and a half for Saturday Hours and any hours before 7am.
