Our client is greatly experienced in manufacturing and developing Fast Moving Consumer Goods on behalf of brand owners. Operating across a number of highly regulated sectors they have a great reputation with in-house specialist and accredited facilities available for meeting their customers’ needs. They currently have a vacancy for a Sales Manager based at their site in the Northwest of England.

The person will report to the Head of Sales Development and the key responsibilities of the position are as follows:

• To manage the development of portfolio of existing developing and prospective customers which will require some travel within the UK and Europe. This portfolio includes a significant £ multimillion Key Customer/VMS Brand owner which will require strong commercial and technical management.

• To make a significant contribution to the success of the business by securing profitable business opportunities, delivering strong growth in line with short- and long-term business forecasts and providing service standards to consistently exceed customer expectations.

• The focus will be on the development and maintenance of sound profitable working relationships with major players within the consumer healthcare industry. It will also involve seeking opportunities to promote the services of other companies within the division.

We are looking for a person with natural flair and charisma who can develop long term relationships with business partners in a contract manufacturing environment with the following attributes:

• Educated to degree level, ideally a science-based graduate with strong commercial acumen.

• Excellent numeracy, business development and communications skills.

• Demonstrable success of profitable business development in key account management B2B context probably within the healthcare and /or food supplement/food sectors.

• Ability to drive and manage multiple customer development projects from inception to completion within short timescales in a fast-moving contract manufacturing environment.

• Demonstrable ability of working with production and technical management to meet customer requirements through a combination of new product development and excellent customer service.

• Ideally, expertise in the field of nutrition and / or knowledge of consumer marketing and brand management.
