Sales Manager

Remote - UK - with travel to the US

£43,000 per annum Plus bonus

An exciting Sales Manager role available with a international lighting company who supply into the super yachting sector. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to join a growing company with a lot to offer.

As the USA Sales Manager, you will manage existing and develop new accounts across the US and Canada; utilising the trusted dealer, distributor network and Rep groups in delivering the highest quality products to a very demanding market. You will drive new sales and have a thorough understanding of new opportunities, representing the brand to the highest of standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with key businesses, such as, Distributors, Dealers, Rep Groups, OEMs, Refit yards, to grow existing and develop new sales. - Working to exceed agreed sales targets.
  • Provide product training where necessary and manage introduction of new products and prices.
  • Boat Show management - overseeing the US & Canadian boat shows, trade shows and Distributor Shows and attending where necessary any events relevant to growth.
  • Extensive travel, with some potential for long periods away from UK, supporting distributors, OEMs and Rep Groups within the US and Canada; attending sales meetings, promoting product range and identifying sales growth opportunities both in and outside of the marine sector.
  • Prepare annual sales strategy, travel plan and budget and agree with Group Sales Director.
  • Work with the marketing department to support US market and US strategy for growth.
  • Report directly to the Group Sales Director with monthly sales reports; highlighting any new business opportunities, promotional ideas and issues; current sales trends and sales vs. budget figures.
  • Build and maintain a good relationship with customer base.
  • Create new customer opportunities.
  • Sell products into new applications within the industry, understanding the core products and their application, assisting with technical support to distributor network and clients direct.
  • Share market feedback to products, trends and opportunities direct to the commercial team.
  • Assist with market research for new product development.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in Marine industry, preferably Leisure Marine.
  • Experience in managing sales network (especially in the US & Canada), including distributors and OEMs.
  • Determination to set and meet high standards, exceeding norms and expectations.
  • The ability to speak and write to be clearly understood by others, using appropriate vocabulary, grammar and style.
  • The ability to recognise both internal and external customers and the willingness to co-operate with them fully in order to help them achieve their objectives.
  • Ability to make and maintain a good impression on others.
  • The ability to persuade or influence other people to accept a point of view, to adopt a specific agenda or to take a course of action.
  • Willingness to develop and exploit a range of productive relationships both inside and outside the team.
  • Motivation to apply and develop one’s own professional and technical knowledge and to share this expertise with others.

Pay, Benefits and working

  • A basic salary of up to £43,000 per annum
  • Bonus / OTE £20,000
