Reed FE are working on an exciting role for a Safeguarding Officer.

Role: Safeguarding Officer
Type: Full-time
Nature: Temporary (with potential for permanent placement)
Location: Hampshire


About the Role: As a Safeguarding Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children within our organization. Your responsibilities will include promptly responding to safeguarding concerns, collaborating with parents, carers, and other agencies, and maintaining accurate records. You’ll work closely with our Executive Safeguarding Lead to uphold the highest standards of child protection.

Key Duties:

Respond in a timely manner to safeguarding concerns to ensure pupils are kept safe from harm.
Proactively work with parents/carers and other agencies through joint planning and monitoring of arrangements for child safeguarding.
Implement and champion our child protection policy and procedures.
Maintain accurate and confidential documentation on safeguarding cases.
Coordinate referrals to social care and liaise with statutory agencies.
Support vulnerable pupils who are victims of abuse or maltreatment.
Collaborate with school staff in initiating multi-agency referrals.
Produce statistical information for governance and local safeguarding boards.


Qualifications and Experience:

Relevant experience in safeguarding or child protection.
Knowledge of policies and procedures related to child welfare.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality.
