Risk Management Lead (Full-time) - Salary - £57,222 to £74,052 (dependent on experience) - Hybrid working.

Join our dynamic Corporate Services team

Corporate Services work with the business to provide legal, finance and strategy expertise. We work with our colleagues, ensuring they can identify and manage business and strategic risks effectively, procure suppliers fairly, trade compliantly, as well as managing cash-flow, revenue and costs. We deliver insightful analysis, managing programmes and projects across the business through effective collaboration and teamwork. The Corporate Services Team is made up of Corporate Finance & Management Information, Finance Business Partnering, Financial Operations, Legal, Procurement and Programme & Project Management.

About the role

In this role you will develop and actively lead the risk management programme at OS, providing both active leadership and clear direction to managing the organisation level strategic risks whilst supporting functional leaders to manage the holistic risk agenda across the business. You will also use your expertise in the field of risk management to guide and advise colleagues on their approach to managing both corporate and project level risks.

What we're looking for

In this role you will:

  • Create and be responsible for the delivery of the risk management policy and framework ensuring that best practice is adopted and kept current and relevant within the business

  • Responsible for maintaining an active, company wide, risk register, proactively identifying and managing risks, issues, and dependencies, and ensuring appropriate actions and arrangements are in place to manage, control and mitigate risk, and ultimately safeguard the company

  • Lead risk mitigation activities through adopting a programmatic approach, ensuring clear reporting and transparency on the status of risk into the Executive team, and Audit & Risk Committee (OSARC)

  • Provide objective review, challenge, and advice for executive leadership team, ensuring that OS always complies with the principles of good corporate governance and risk management

  • Act as risk champion within the company, leading a virtual team of risk champions across the company to create roadmaps and programmes of work to improve risk maturity, ensuring best practices are adopted, followed, and maintained

  • Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships with the ability to influence others in their decision making

Location: We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be required to spend around 2 days a week with the remaining time being a personal choice as to whether you work from home or spend more time at OSHQ.

Security

OS conducts DBS background checks for all joiners and some of our roles require additional security clearance, including to SC or DV level in some cases. We will tell candidates at the appropriate time during the recruitment process if additional clearance will be required for this role.
