A highly established Insurance group are focused on finding an experienced Risk and Compliance Officer to work on a Hybrid basis.

The role:

COMPLIANCE

The range of duties encompass Horizon scanning - monitor regulatory or legislative changes which may affect the business and pro-actively share insight through regulatory updates.

Formal Assurance - Assist in the design and implementation of the Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP).

Take ownership of the plan and reporting. • Flexible Assurance - Plan and execute assurance testing on areas of the FCA Handbook to react to current and emerging risks (e.g. thematic / rapid reviews).

Financial Promotions implement a process for reviewing and approving financial promotions.

ICO compliance - Ability to provide expertise and experience in meeting the requirements of GDPR and ensuring all relevant documentation is in place.

Operational Resilience - Capture and document all aspects of the business ability to operate under varied scenarios to ensure op resilience stress testing and review the tolerances set.

Essential

  • Experience in a risk, compliance, or quality assurance role.
  • Familiar with creating/using compliance monitoring programmes.
  • Exposure to the basics of risk management.
  • Have a working knowledge of the FCA handbook including, SYSC, PERG and PROD.
  • Ability to work with the business to drive a positive compliance culture.

GOVERNANCE

Reporting - Work with the business to enhance reporting for each business function to facilitate informed decision making.

Specifically Conduct Risk & Consumer Duty reports.

BCP- Own the business continuity plan and liaise with UK and stakeholders to ensure it remains relevant in accordance with legislation/regulation, support with testing the plan.

Training - Manage all regulatory courses, and devise risk and compliance inductions for all new starters. Oversee training and competence across the business.

Policies - Maintain the schedule for reviewing all policies and procedures to ensure they are accurate, relevant, and aligned with the required regulation.

Regulatory liaison - Collaborate with the HR department to monitor and complete all regulatory applications/returns and annual assessments.
