Egg was acquired by Liberty Global in 2020, and is established amongst the market leaders in the growing UK renewables sector, specialising in the design, specification, installation and ongoing maintenance of Electric Vehicle Charging, Solar Photovoltaic and Battery Storage systems.

Headquartered in Leeds, it operates across the UK, with a varied customer base from one-off residential to large-scale public sector. Through the various market channels Egg delivers many key projects including various rapid charger networks, some of the largest fleet depot charging systems, residential and commercial vehicle-to-grid installations and integrated solar and battery storage solutions.

Egg is FCA authorised for consumer credit, and is in the process of awaiting full financing permissions and needs a Risk & Compliance Manager to support the Head of Risk & Compliance and Egg in managing its risk profile and maintaining compliance in line with FCA requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Work with the Head of Risk & Compliance to ensure compliance is built into everyday business processes and practices.
  • Maintain Risk and Compliance policies, procedures and registers
  • Undertake testing of compliance controls over-regulated activity and identify any risks and issues for management's attention and recommend control improvements
  • Support the MLRO - review Anti-Money Laundering controls and ensure that MI supports the annual Money Laundering Report
  • Help maintain the enterprise risk register, testing underlying controls that support management's risk assessment
  • Help prepare monthly risk and compliance report to assist management in understanding the risks and regulatory compliance
  • Act as the change champion for risk and compliance on all regulatory developments
  • Perform regular reviews of products and services offered to ensure compliance, identify any gaps in current business procedures and work with cross functional teams to develop necessary remediation steps
  • Support development and delivery of internal and external awareness & training
  • Assist Head of Risk & Compliance in ensuring the business is up to date on legislation, regulation and best practice. Undertake horizon scanning
  • Lead the submission of regulatory returns
  • Work with LG stakeholders & Finance on loan portfolio management and credit risk
  • Support Head of Risk & Compliance in execution of regulatory responsibilities and regulatory change
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Prior professional experience in Risk, Compliance and Financial Crime
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a regulatory environment with good understanding of risk, controls and regulatory obligations, ideally from Financial Services with knowledge across Consumer Credit and Insurance
  • Comfortable working at all levels within the organisation
  • Strong reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to understand complex regulatory requirements and come up with pragmatic solutions
DESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Professional qualification in Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit (ICA, IRM, IIA etc.)
  • Ability to apply sound business practices and work with business leaders
  • Commercially aware
  • Result driven, output focused team player
  • Being able to build bridges and create support for improvements
  • Motivated, proactive and hard-working
  • Fits into ambitious, result-driven, down-to-earth culture
  • Ability to meet deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy

  • Strong organizational and operational skills, able to plan effectively and solve problems
  • Communicator able to provide clear and meaningful interpretation of risk analysis conducted. To be able to lead and control meetings with senior stakeholders
