We're seeking a dedicated and dynamic Retail Area Manager who is passionate about people and has proven success within high street retail. Through your commercial knowledge and experience, you will oversee multiple shops to drive sales and maximise profits. Your exceptional leadership will empower and support shops to achieve their targets, all of which will support our income generation strategy that supports a brighter future for animals in need.

Our Retail team is an integral part of our organisation, and as the Area Manager you will be responsible for multiple shops and should be flexible to travel around the region, which includes our Godmanchester Head Office.

As Area Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our mission forward by:

Coaching, Leading, and Inspiring: Working closely with your team, foster a culture of collaboration and growth. You will be confident to celebrate successes, address challenges head-on, and develop succession plans to ensure a bright future for all team members.

Achieving Sales Targets: With a sharp focus on financial goals, you will lead your area to meet and exceed sales budgets, maximizing retail profit through effective cost control and strategic decision-making.

Recruiting and Developing Talent: Building a high-performing team is key. Working with your People Team, you will recruit, develop, and retain top-notch staff across all roles, nurturing their skills and potential to drive performance.

Ensuring Compliance: Ensure in-shop compliance with organizational policies and Ways of Being, with a strong understanding of safeguarding in the charity retail environment.

Analysing Data for Insights: Dive into financial data to make informed commercial decisions, guiding your area towards profitability and sustainability.

Setting Standards: Maintain sector-leading standards in customer service and in-store merchandising, ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.

Driving Donations: Initiate and lead area-driven initiatives to generate quality donated goods, fuelling our mission to support animals in need.

Engaging with Communities: Be at the heart of our community strategy, ensuring our shops are not just places of retail, but integral parts of the communities we serve.

In return we can offer you;

  • A competitive starting salary of £34,730 - £38,589 depending on experience.
