Berry recruitment are currently looking for a permanent response and minor workers project manager to work for the local council based in Peterborough. the annual salary is up to £38,500 yearly.

The core duties will include undertaking condition surveys; specifying, instructing and overseeing reactive maintenance works; capital works projects (£1.5k -£200k) - to include all aspects from the initial design brief/ tender preparation/ contract administration/ handover; undertaking post completion inspections, etc.

other responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the safety and welfare of the public, staff and supply chain working safely, stopping work if unsafe and addressing any safety concerns.
  • Responsible for the successful completion of the overall projects under your control and to lead by example in all you do, managing the day-to-day delivery of projects from inception to completion.
  • keeping all stakeholders informed of progress, issues, scope creep etcas well as liaising with the Principal Building Surveyor to ensure that they are fully aware of project progress.
  • preparing/completing reports, inspection findings, planning applications, appraisals, projects briefs etc

Requirements

  • You will have either, began your career as a tradesperson (joiner, bricklayer, etc) and moved into a supervisory role. Or, are Qualified to Level 4 (HNC) or Level 5 (HND), either as a Construction Design and Build Technician or Construction Site Supervisor
  • Have a well-rounded knowledge of all aspects of the built environment, from external works to all building fabric - including new build and fit-out and a working knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical installations
  • Capable of producing condition surveys/reports (not essential)
  • A Health and Safety qualification i.e. IOSH/NEBOSH Certificate or above (not essential)
  • GCSEs C grade or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Clean driving licence and own vehicle, which is insured for business use (car allowance of £3,960per year)
