Randstad are proud to be working with a Family Assessment Unit dedicated to providing comprehensive support and guidance to families facing challenges in Bridgend and surrounding areas to recruit for a Residential Social Worker to join a growing team.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Residential Family Social Worker to join our dynamic team at the Family Assessment Unit in Bridgend. As a Residential Family Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality residential support to families undergoing assessment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout their stay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and supervision to families residing in the assessment unit, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Collaborate with the assessment team to conduct comprehensive assessments of families' needs, strengths, and risks.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans in partnership with families, addressing identified goals and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Facilitate therapeutic interventions and activities designed to promote family bonding, communication, and conflict resolution.
  • Monitor and evaluate family progress during their stay, identifying any emerging concerns or additional support needs.
  • Liaise with external agencies, professionals, and family members to coordinate additional support services and resources as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and progress reports in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • A Social Work Degree and a live registration with Social Care Wales
  • Proven experience working with families in a residential or community setting, preferably within a family assessment unit or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of child development, family dynamics, and risk assessment principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards in all interactions and activities.
