Conveyancing Assistant
  • Annual Salary: £25,000 - £28,000
  • Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and hard-working Conveyancing Assistant to join an established residential conveyancing team. The role involves a focus on high-quality work and providing an efficient service where client care is paramount.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assisting an experienced fee earner with a variety of conveyancing tasks.
  • Liaising with clients, solicitors, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and the Land Registry.
  • Providing estimates, opening files, and carrying out online identity checks and AML assessments.
  • Downloading titles and submitting applications to HM Land Registry.
  • Preparing draft contract bundles and ordering searches.
  • Handling post-exchange work, dealing with completions, and post-completion tasks.
  • Submitting SDLT forms to HMRC and closing files efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience working in Conveyancing with a well-developed understanding of conveyancing procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in relevant legal software.
  • A can-do attitude and the ability to handle a workload efficiently.
