Previous experience is not essential.
Based in Yeovil an easy commute from the town centre with access to free parking.
As a Residential child support worker you will be expected to sleep at the premises between 4 and 7 times a month at the rate of £62 per sleep. The shifts will be 24 hours so that the children or young peoples routines are not compromised by the comings and goings of staff.
Residential Child support Workers encourage each young person to be involved in all aspects of their care.
This will involve skill development, problem solving and assessment of risk, while being mindful of their individual capabilities.
As a Residential child support worker your responsibilities include:
Supporting children/young people to maintain and develop relationships with friends and family.
Encourage the children/young people to integrate with the local community by attending clubs or day centres.
Support the children/young people in all aspects of their daily living.
Safeguard vulnerable children/young people
Willing to cover other homes when required.
Liaise with parents and/or carers and other professionals.
Essential:
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support
Desirable:
Level 3 in childcare
Experience in looking after children or Young people
