Residential Learning Support
  • Salary: £20,000 - £24,000 (depending on qualifications)
  • Location: Rural Horsham, West Sussex
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Working Hours: 42 hours per week

Join our all-through special school for boys aged 5-18 years old, set in the beautiful West Sussex countryside. Working Schedule:
  • Monday: 15:00 - 22:00
  • Tuesday to Thursday: 07:30 - 09:30, 15:00 - 22:00
  • Friday: 07:30 - 09:30, 14:00 - 16:00

Your New Role:
  • Assist with nutritional and feeding requirements of students
  • Support students in achieving their educational and personal goals
  • Help with after-school clubs, extracurricular activities, and homework
  • Work with children who have complex emotional needs, recognising and de-escalating situations to prevent disruption
  • Maintain positive relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary
  • Demonstrate a genuine care for helping students thrive and create a positive, inclusive environment for students with special needs
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or complex emotional needs
  • Ability to recognise and de-escalate challenging situations
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to exercise authority and make decisive actions
  • A genuine passion for supporting and empowering students to reach their full potential
  • A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
