Research and Development Engineer

Research and Development Engineer required. My client is an international leader in manufacturing polymer sealing solutions to a range of industries on a global scale. They are now looking to expand their airframe and aero-engine team with an experienced Research and Development Engineer. The ideal candidate will be experienced in both destructive and non-destructive testing, the use of CATIA, will be degree qualified and will be based locally to Swadlincote.

• Creating Test Plans, Test Reports and compliance documents
• Compliance database maintenance and continues development
• Testing fixtures and equipment - concepts, design, build and commissioning coordination
• Testing - execution of test plans, typical scenarios to include; Load Deflection Characteristics, Life Tests / Endurance / Cycling tests, Pressure / Leakage Tests, Temperature Testing & Fire testing
• RTCA DO-160G - Test procedures for Airborne Equipment
• Running the operations of two test labs
• Ensuring compliance to standards,
• Continues improvement and development of working procedures and capabilities, ISO17025 implementation lead
• Follow procedures and perform duties in compliance with company accreditation requirements (AS9100 and ISO17025)

• Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline
• Experienced with Mechanical design with a proficiency with CATIA
• Qualified in Engineering testing
• Experience working to AS9100 and ISO17025 standards
• Previous experience in the Aerospace sector would be highly advantageous
• Based within a commutable distance of Swadlincote

• Salary £40,000 - £42,000
• Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:45-8:15 to 16:30-17:00, Friday 7:45-8:15 to 12:30-13:00
• 32 days holiday including bank holidays
• Pension
