Rent Recovery Support Officer

We have an urgent requirement for a Rent Recovery Support Officer to join an East London Local Authority on a five month interim role.

As a Rent Recovery Support Officer you will be responsible for proactively contacting tenants to discuss current stage 1 arrears and find a relevant solution. You will also field incoming calls / email queries and face to face visits.

• Maximising rent recovery from customers in Temporary Accommodation and in Council Housing.
• Contacting tenants in a timely, systematic way to vigorously pursue their rent arrears and respond to any enquiries from contacts within the specified time.
• Carrying out transactional and administrative tasks required to achieve this.
• Transferring customers to the 2nd Stage Rent Recovery team, Court Officers and the Complex Case Team in accordance with rent arrears.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a sound knowledge of rent arrears recovery within a housing setting. You must be resilient and have excellent excellent communication skills.

This is a hybrid role, after training (2 weeks) you will be expected to attend the office 1 day a week (or more if staff are absent). None driving. Office is close to Central Line tube station.
