Religious Studies Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable RE Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Biggleswade. This is a permanent role starting from September 2024, ideal for an individual with a passion for religious education and a commitment to student development.
Day-to-day of the role:- Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons in Religious Education to students of varying abilities.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments in line with curriculum standards.
- Monitor and evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Create a positive learning environment that accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop new curriculum materials and teaching strategies.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school-wide professional development.
- Relevant qualifications in religious education, such as a degree in Theology or Religious Studies.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in a relevant subject area.
- Prior experience teaching RE at the secondary education level.
- Strong understanding of the current curriculum and pedagogical theories.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
