Area Support Worker
 Southampton
 £11.33 – 13.91 per hour
 Permanent
A Full Drivers License and own vehicle with business insurance is MANDATORY for this role.

Due to some of the tasks and personal care included within this role, this job is open to female applicants only.

We are recruiting for a Support Worker to help care for people in their own homes across the Southampton area, who have a variety of complex needs including Spinal Injury, Brain Injury, learning disabilities & Mental health so experience working in a similar environment is crucial. 

You will join an inclusive, supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with brain injuries. This can be challenging at times, so a positive attitude, empathy and emotional resilience are essential. 

You must be flexible because weekdays, nights and weekend shifts are a must!

Key Responsibilities

  • Support with medication
  • Personal care requirements including showering, incontinence needs, or getting ready for the day.
  • Outings, activities, errands 
  • Grocery shopping and meal preparation
  • Cough Assist
  • PEG Feeding
  • Manual Handling and Moving (Hoisting)

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Requirements: 
  • Live by our group values – Compassionate Accountable Respectful Empowering
  • Worked as a carer/in healthcare previously in the UK 
  • Experience working with Brain & Spinal Injuries
  • Experience working closely with families of the supported (Preferred)
  • Experience working with/caring for the elderly would be beneficial.
  • Experience working with dementia would be beneficial.
  • Full UK driver’s license + own vehicle is MANDATORY to be considered for this role.
