Refuse Driver

Main Purpose of Post:

• Ensure an efficient and effective delivery of the recycling and waste service to the stakeholders that meets the Council’s and the Governments performance criteria including continuous improvement.

• To work as part of a team of recycling & waste operatives in the collection of domestic, trade /recycling on designated rounds. To be responsible for a recycling and waste collection vehicle and undertake all driving activities relating to that vehicle.

• To provide the first point of contact to the public in the promotion of recycling, providing guidance and assistance to maximise recycling collected from the householders and traders.

Experience

• Considerable experience and a working knowledge of waste and recycling collection activities and processes.

• Experience of multi point driving activities and waste & recycling

collection driving duties.

• Experience of customer contact and

knowledge of personnel safety

issues in a customer environment.
