Salary: £27,929 to £33,690

Location: Wetherby

Job Type: Full-time, Sessional, 12-month Fixed Term & Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon-Thu 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Fri 8:00 am - 1:00 pm)

We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Maths Tutor to join our team within offender learning in the Wetherby area. This role is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of learners, aiding their personal development and helping them contribute positively to their communities.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Develop and deliver high-quality lessons in functional skills maths.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
• Assess learner needs and develop individualised learning plans.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Support learners in achieving their qualifications.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for all learners.
• Stay up-to-date with curriculum changes and best practices in functional skills education.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Hold a minimum of Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE grades 9 to 4, A* to C, or equivalent).
• A qualification in the specialist subject area of Functional Skills Maths.
• A proven track record of effective teaching within the subject specialism.
• A Level 5 teaching qualification or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
