Barbering Trainer

Annual Salary: £27,929.83 to £34,856.43 pro-rata

Location: Barnard Castle

Job Type: Part-time, 3-month fixed-term contract.

Working hours: Friday 5 hours.

We are looking for a Barbering Trainer to join our team in an inspiring role within the Offender Learning Sector. This part-time position is a unique opportunity to deliver Barbering Level 1 and 2 courses to small groups of learners in a prison setting. As a Barbering Trainer, you will not only teach skills and knowledge but also make a meaningful impact on learners’ lives, aiding their preparation for a positive future after release.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Deliver high-quality Barbering Level 1 and 2 courses within a prison environment.

• Develop comprehensive training plans tailored to the needs of each learner group.

• Provide advice, guidance, and support to enhance the learning experience.

• Ensure the quality and consistency of course delivery and materials.

• Monitor and report on learner progress and outcomes.

• Engage with learners to instil professional skills, knowledge, and positive behaviours.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Hold at least a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.

• Willing to gain an Award in Education within 6 months.

• Proven track record of effective teaching in barbering.

• Ability to gain, hold, and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

• Strong organisational and planning skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Commitment to the rehabilitation and education of offenders.
