About the Role

Hampshire County Council are looking for a Facilities Management Assistant/Receptionist at their Havant offices To support the delivery of a comprehensive, client focused, effective, safe, clean and secure FM service to meet business requirements across the organisation.

What is the day-to-day of the role:

Respond to and perform day to day routine issues including housekeeping, security, maintenance and events management through the focused use of networks and information systems.

Provide support for junior staff where appropriate and produce information for performance management and development.

Assist in the control of resources including equipment, consumables stationery and implement county wide procedures.

Dealing with a broad range of FM tasks across a suite of buildings.

Determine the most cost effective and customer focused method of completing allocated tasks.

Respond to initial customer complaints and issues.

Understanding of when to refer enquiries to more senior staff for resolution.

Prioritise customer requirements to meet changing business needs.

Assess available resources, including staff levels and competence for effective use.

Exercise judgement when dealing with difficult customers.

To instigate an appropriate response to an emergency first aid situation.

To act as a fire marshal.

Operation of stair climber and evacuation equipment.

Required Skill and Qualifications

Secondary education & normally five GCSE or equivalent including Maths and

English (Grade A-C)

Able to demonstrate a customer focused approach.

Previous FM-related experience with specific experience where appropriate

Computer literate in the use of a variety of software for data handling and

transmission.

Effective communication skills at all levels, both written and oral.

Some roles able to fulfil the mobility requirements of the role & may require an

appropriate driving licence.

Moving & handling knowledge as the role requires dealing with a manual

handling workload, including supervision of staff with manual handling duties.

Understanding of when to refer enquiries to more senior staff for resolution.

Assess available resources, including staff levels and competence, for effective

use.

Exercise judgement when dealing with difficult customers.

To be first aid qualified is desirable

Driving licence is desirable but not essential
