LB138 - Railway Tack Operative

Location: Crewe 

Salary: £29,000

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Railway Track Operative on behalf of one of our clients.

To ensure all company controlled and contracted 3rd party infrastructure is installed & maintained in a safe and efficient manner and compliant with company track categorisation and inspection standards, MIE 0901.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain controlled and contracted 3rd party infrastructure in accordance with the relevant standards.
  • Ensure the Method of Work and Risk Assessment is appropriate for the task to be undertaken.
  • Report urgent safety related defects that may impede the safe operation of the customers’ business to your line manager and / or the respective Operations Control.
  • Undertake infrastructure renewals and new schemes as directed.
  • Respond to emergency call outs for infrastructure repairs and derailments as required.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the Track Maintenance Manager or the track maintenance team leader.    

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) Desirable 
  • Track maintenance competence. Desirable
  • Use of mobile plant etc.
  • Hand held power tools.
  • Full driving licence required.
  • Issue of track inspection documentations.
