Our client is an award-winning multi-disciplinary building and construction consultancy based across a number of offices in the South of England. Due to their continued success, they are looking to appoint an additional and experienced Quantity Surveyor for their South Devon office.

The successful candidate will be required to act on behalf of both public and private sector clients across a broad range of projects. Limited travel will be expected to be undertaken across the region to fulfil the requirements of the role and its diverse range of work.

The ideal candidate will either be Chartered, working towards becoming Chartered, or will have in-depth commercial experience and be able to demonstrate a proven and successful track record working as a Quantity Surveyor.

To be considered for the opportunity you require a very strong Quantity Surveyor skill base and must have an in-depth understanding of the commercial aspects of building and construction.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills. All applicants must hold a full UK driver's licence.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working within the team and assisting senior staff both in the office and at site visits.
  • Document management in accordance with QA procedures.
  • Preparation of cost advice in accordance with RICS guidance notes (including order of cost estimates, viability reports, formal cost plans, cash-flow forecasts, life cycle and whole life costs, etc.).
  • Preparation of tender documentation and the administration of tender processes.
  • Preparation of contracts.
  • Post-contract cost management (e.g., administering change control processes, valuing variations, assessing contractor's claims).
  • Preparing valuations for progress payments.
  • Preparation of post contract cost reports.
  • Preparation of final accounts.
