Job Title: Quantity Surveyor / Junior Quantity Surveyor (Utilities)

Location: Hatfield

Salary: £45,000 (Negotiable)

Hawkfield Recruitment has partnered with a development/utilities company in the Hatfield area, and we are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor / Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. Our client is a family run business, established in 1980, and since then the company has grown to group of companies, covering Developments, Plant, and Utilities. They pride themselves on providing specialist services within the Industry and have expanded through repeat business and providing their clients with excellent service delivery.

This position will be working with the commercial team on their Utilities sector, mainly covering water projects. We are looking for a candidate with knowledge of Quantity Surveying within the Utilities Sector, however, this is not essential, and we would also be looking to speak with Junior Surveyors with the right experience.

Job Role of Quantity Surveyor:

• Preferably knowledge of Quantity Surveying in the utility sector.
• Good communication skills.
• Comfortable liaising with clients and management.
• Excellent time keeping skills.
• Researching costs of materials, transportation, labor, and equipment.
• Establishing and nurturing relationships with contractors and vendors.
• Assist with monthly applications.
• Review disputes.
• Assessing project risk levels.
• Analyse productivity reports.
• Produce estimates for work.
• Manage sub-contractors.
• Check contra charges.
• Monitor excavation sizes.
