Information on the role

Your primary role will involve ensuring the commercial viability of the day-to-day repairs undertaken by our team and effectively managing all day-to-day contracts within a specific geographical region.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability and expertise to estimate various repairs and maintenance projects, ensuring optimal value across a substantial volume of orders. While our in-house teams predominantly carry out the work, the capability to negotiate and cultivate relationships with both contractors and suppliers/merchants in the supply chain is indispensable.

Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor role include:

  • Handling contract administration for a diverse range of contracts, encompassing reactive repairs, disrepair, and occasional void works.
  • Conducting pre-contract tasks such as defining specifications in collaboration with client teams, pricing works utilizing schedule of rates packages, and monitoring orders.
  • Executing post-contract responsibilities, including cost monitoring of projects, agreement and documentation of site variations, and submission of valuations and periodic billing for completed works.
  • Assisting in overseeing all consultancy and contractor appointments within the supply chain to ensure compliance with regulations and high-quality performance.

Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge of Nat Fed SOR’s.
  • Recent experience in a similar role within a commercially focused housing and/or contracting environment.
  • Working familiarity with relevant regulations, legislation, and current practices, particularly in Health and Safety.
  • Hands-on experience in project management with strong project management skills.
  • Some experience in effectively managing contracts and nurturing contractor relationships.
  • Basic experience in staff management and service delivery within budget constraints
