Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Groundworks

Location: Maldon, Essex

Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 per annum

Type: Permanent, Full Time

My client is in search of an experienced Quantity Surveyor to enhance there established team, focusing on housing/residential groundworks packages within the building and civil engineering sectors.

With a solid reputation spanning over six decades, my clients core business specialises within the civils & groundworks division. Owing to an upsurge in workload, they present an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join there team.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head Of Civils, you will be accountable for:

• Issuing subcontract enquiries and orders
• Establishing a monitoring regime on subcontractor accounts
• Identifying and measuring changes/delays to works
• Assisting in creating contract budgets and contract reporting
• Submission of substantiated valuations
• Cost and value reconciliations
• Advising/controlling commercial aspects of site activities
• Establishing buying targets/credit limits
• Cash flow forecasts
• Gathering financial information for CVR reporting, collating data from Sage and finer details from invoices
• Assisting the estimating department with take-offs, 'first principle' rate build-ups, and reconciling on-site labor outputs
• Demonstrating a thorough understanding of project(s) contractual and commercial requirements
• Demonstrating confidence and expertise in dispute resolution and risk, and opportunity profiling with minimal input from the Directors
• Forming productive relationships with our site and management teams
• Promoting and maintaining strong client relationships to agree valuations and maintain throughout the project to agree the final account

Experience:

• Experience in Groundworks and Civils on residential housing is essential
• Experience in managing live concurrent projects up to £30m
• Ability to communicate effectively and work on own initiative
