Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Groundworks

Compensation: £40,000-£60,000 depending on experience

Overview:

My client is currently looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role will involve managing the financial aspects of Groundworks and Civil Engineering projects, primarily focusing on Housing/Commercial and Industrial sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting quantity surveying tasks and cost estimation for Groundworks and Civil Engineering projects.
• Overseeing project finances from inception to completion, including the preparation of tender documents and final accounts.
• Accurately measuring and valuing work progress.
• Efficiently allocating resources and procuring materials.
• Managing subcontractors and ensuring cost-effectiveness and professionalism.
• Acting as a liaison between the production team and clients, communicating project requirements effectively.
• Collaborating with client commercial teams and attending site meetings as necessary.
• Handling subcontract enquiries and quotations.
• Identifying and managing contract variations.
• Preparing project invoices and final accounts.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Actively seeking new tender opportunities to support business growth.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in quantity surveying techniques and cost estimation for Groundworks and Civil Engineering projects, particularly in Housing developments.
• Ability to work collaboratively to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Familiarity with various contract forms, including the JCT contract range.
• Experience with relevant software and documentation tools such as Excel, Adobe, and Bluebeam.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail in commercial documentation.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Capacity to handle both external and internal demands efficiently.
• Demonstrated commercial awareness
