Working for an established yet growing contractor, you will be joining a reputable organisation with a strong foothold in the North of Scotland. In the role of Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator, you will have a fast-paced and varied role and join a supportive and experienced team. This role offers a permanent salary up to £45,000, an additional car allowance/ company car and a range of other benefits. Due to established links in the area, they have a healthy order book throughout 2024 and can offer job security.
Your new role
In your new role, you will report to a Commercial Manager. Working on tender opportunities as they are presented, you will form a key part of the company's estimating team. Post-contract award you will carry out quantity surveying work in line with the scope of the contracts won. Your role will be fast-paced, potentially working on multiple projects and tenders. You will measure and evaluate completed work, review subcontractor applications and invoices, liaise with the wider team to discuss any variations or escalations. You will be responsible for keeping all contractual information up to date and ensuring that the commercial process runs smoothly.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role, ideally you will hold a professional qualification in a construction related discipline, such as a Degree or HNC/ HND in Quantity Surveying. In addition, relevant experience in the construction or civil engineering sector would be required. Your role will require you to have good attention to detail, strong IT skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative. You must also hold a full UK Driving Licence as you will travel to site-based projects.
