Title: Quantity Surveyor.

Location: Barnsley.

Salary: Up to £60K.

We are looking for an experienced Estimator with comprehensive experience of pricing Drylining, Suspended Ceilings & SFS projects across various sectors.

Responsibilities will including but not limited to:

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings
  • Ensuring all documentation received is comprehensive enough to put together a robust estimate
  • Liaising with clients to explore value engineering options
  • Calculating material quantities and costs, along with labour costs
  • Negotiating with clients to secure work that meets with company needs
  • Attending mid & post tender meetings with YDL management & Main Contractors
  • Working with the commercial and site team to hand over secured projects


Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Experience in an Estimating capacity within a drylining subcontractor
  • Proven drywall / SFS pricing experience for packages ranging from £10k - £5m
  • Ambitious and determined attitude
  • Used to site visits and client facing activity
  • Commercially aware
  • Computer literacy in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills are essential, as are numeracy, literacy, and communication skills in English
  • Preferably degree qualified in a relevant subject
