Quality Inspector

Location: Drayton, Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX14

Hours: 37-hour week, Mon-Thurs 8.00 – 4.30, Fri 8.00-1.00 (Overtime often available)

Salary: Up to £38k, dependent on skill and experience

Job Type: Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Mechanical Engineering Quality Inspector to oversee all aspects of quality control within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will manage quality control from material supply through in-process inspection to final delivery. This role requires a disciplined approach to dimensional inspection, customer and supplier liaison, and the management of non-conformance reports (NCRs) in line with ISO 9001 standards.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Conducting in-process inspection during manufacture.
  • Operating both programmable and manual CMM inspection using Aberlink.
  • Maintaining and calibrating metrology gauges and equipment to ISO 9001 standards.
  • Overseeing goods in/out inspection.
  • Raising and investigating NCRs with implementation of corrective/preventive measures.
  • Presenting KPI statistics for monthly review.
  • Maintaining ISO 9001 accreditation as it relates to production and inspection.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience as a CNC Machinist/programmer with a background in ‘Inspection’.
  • Demonstrable skills and experience in quality inspection.
  • Confident in making discerning judgments on when to raise issues and improvements.
