Russell Taylor are excited to be recruiting a Quality Engineer based in Preston, on behalf of our client.

JOB SUMMARY
The primary function of the job is to maintain the quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, the Pressure Equipment Directives 2014/68/EU and PE(S)-R-2016, and the compliance regulations of REACH and RoHS2.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and deploy quality procedures aimed at addressing recurring quality issues.
• Develop and execute documentation and controls aligned with ISO 9001:2015 and internal quality management system (QMS).
• Design and conduct quality system audits, process audits and product audits according to established schedules.
• Completion of 8D reports to meet customer specifications and deadlines.
• Collaborate with various departments to enhance the quality of business processes.
• Address customer requests and concerns.
• Organise and lead monthly quality meetings with department managers to prioritise and accelerate the resolution of reported quality issues.
• Conduct inspection, testing & evaluation of product quality issues either internally or on-site at customer premises and product test reports.
• Collaborate with supply chain, external vendors and suppliers on quality standards and management, working towards implementing supplier performance improvement plans where required.
• Support all external quality audits and provide timely reports to management.
• Produce monthly quality KPI's and quality reports.
• Drive quality standards across all departments covering customer quality concerns, internal non-conformances, manufacturing, inspection

KEY RESULT AREAS
• Strengthen & improve quality systems and processes.
• Investigation and resolution of product quality issues.
• Reduction in product quality issues.
• Maintain compliance of the ISO and PED accreditations.
• Accuracy of the quality management system (QMS).
• Maintain an effective customer complaints process.
• Operating in accordance with ISO 9001:2015
• Monthly reporting completed on-time.
• Active customer complaints and response times.
• Effective QMS system.

SKILLS
• Demonstrated experience of managing an ISO quality management system is essential.
• ISO 9001 internal auditing qualification is essential.
• Experience in a quality assurance role
• Professional experience in a manufacturing environment with ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience of Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU) is desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 is an advantage.
