Our client are a leading manufacturer of precision parts for the aerospace and power generation industries. They are looking to add a Quality Engineer to their team on a permanent basis. This would be a great fit for a meticulous individual who enjoys variety in their day to day.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

  • To support the Quality Manager in pursuing business objectives.
  • To maintain and support all regulatory and third-party approvals.
  • To assist with the identification, development and implementation of product and process improvements.
  • To ensure continuity of production of quality parts ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved. 
  • To ensure that quality, cost and delivery are continually improved.
  • To ensure that all work meets customer expectations on delivery and quality, both internal and external.
  • To be flexible, adaptable and move between work areas.
  • Carry out any other reasonable request by Senior Management Team.

Role Description: 
  • Maintain the calibration system. Update the calibration database to ensure all gauges are calibrated prior to use and fully traceable to a national standard. Train internal calibration staff. Manage external calibration houses and review all calibration certificates.
  • Lead Internal audit program. Maintain the training of all internal auditors required to achieve the internal audit program set out by the Quality Manager, including AS9100 audits and customer mandated internal audits.
  • Support the external audit program including external bodies and customer visits.
  • Maintain and update the Quality Management System to ensure it is compliant with regulatory and customer standards, and to ensure that current processes are accurately covered and adhered to.
  • Support the Non-Conformance process to ensure the parts are correctly managed and to also prevent recurrence. 
  • Lead weekly Material Review Board meetings to eliminate causes of non-conformance and increase Quality performance.
  • Maintain the Corrective Action Log and ensure that true Root Cause Corrective actions are identified and implemented.
  • Maintain the approved stamp holders log to ensure that training is implemented and maintained for all quality signatories.
  • Support the First Article Inspection process to ensure that new products and changes are correctly validated, end of production are validated and bounded and to ensure continuity of shipments.
  • Support the Production Part Approval Process to ensure all elements (including MSA, FMEA, SPC, etc.) are correctly completed and submitted to achieve full approval.
  • Support the production traceability requirements such as correlation number tracking and implementation.
  • Maintain the specification database, ensuring all of the current revisions are held on file, fully reviewed and implemented.


Key Skills/ Qualities/ Experience: 
  • Experienced Aerospace Quality Engineer.
  • Lead AS9100 auditor qualified.
  • Six Sigma trained.
  • To have a thorough and focused approach to investigating and problem solving. 
  • Fully proficient in Excel for data compilation and analysis. (Ideal to have experience of Minitab for data analysis). 
  • Computer literacy – specifically MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint. 
  • Experience in technical/ quality report writing.
